I am writing this review for one reason only. This is to warn you....if you feel you must watch this movie....don't do it with young children in the room. I felt like I needed a shower after watching this, and I only got through probably a quarter of it. Pretty awful stuff happens in this world and sometimes you have to portray this in a movie to give it that "living it" feeling; however, this movie was too "real" for me. Was this really the film that I'd heard so much good about? Clearly not. Oprah Winfrey is the executive producer of this mess, which says more than should be allowed. Nothing in my hands at the start of the credits running at the end but the feeling that I'd been duped. Morena Baccarin also shows up as a social worker with a mustache, sans make-up. "Spy" might inspire many to feel good about their weight issues, but what it tries to inspire sure as hell isn't much thought.

Storyline

This movie picks up where the TV show ended. Vincent Chase is offered a role by his former agent now Studio boss Ari Gold in a movie he is developing. Vincent agrees on the condition that he be allowed to direct the movie also. Nearly a year later, Vince is uncertain if the movie is ready, so he asks Ari for money to finish the movie. But Vincent has asked for money more than once already and Ari's bosses are not happy of how much they're spending. But he goes to their backer to ask for more money and he wants to see what Vince has shot so far but Vince won't let anyone see it yet. But he's planning a screening, and asks the backer to come to L.A. with him but he can't so he sends his son instead. At the screening Vince decides not to show it. But gives out DVDS. The son after watching the movie, says he has issues with Drama, Vince's brother who has a small role in the movie. Vince is unwilling to drop him. When they appease the son, he then says he has issues with Vince.

I didn't even get to finish my popcorn! I left the movie half way through feeling so uncomfortable and extremely degraded. I may have been a little angry too! Although I've never in my 25 years left a movie early, I just couldn't get myself to sit through the entire joke of a movie. The whole thing (or at least the first half) is an immature collaboration of old men acting like douche bag high schoolers with absolutely no values... Objectifying women and casually talking about sex and "hooking up". The self obsessed and sex obsessed entourage is an embarrassment to the American culture. I typically don't wrote movie reviews nor do I rate them, but in this case I felt it was quite necessary.

Being the father of two girls, ages 12 and 13, I have to say that my wife and I were not happy with ANY of the first 45 minutes of the film. I cannot say what happens after that, because for the first time in my 46 years on this earth, I actually walked out on a movie before it ended. The police departments across this country need to attend this movie to see the people that go and actually see the whole thing. They can then get a warrant for those that completed watching the film and see how many pedophile-type images they have on their computers at home. This film made me and my wife's stomachs turn; who can sit through this nonsense? Why would a society in these times actually tolerate this movie? Where are the protesters? And don't use the crutch of "it's art". If that stands true, then those convicted in courts of possession of child pornography can just use that as a defense. In fact, there was a 50-something year old white male, by himself, watching the movie in front of us. WHY?? One could only wonder.....

Storyline

I'm not a film critic or a film connoisseur of any kind; I rate a film based upon how much I enjoyed it and if it would be worth the money to shell out at the theater. With that in mind, I gave this film a 9/10.

The best way to describe this movie is Bourne meets CHUCK (the TV Series). It is a Dramedy at it finest - it isn't straight up drama and it isn't a comedy, but it has a nice mix of both, leaning a bit more toward the comedy side of things.

I couldn't stop smiling throughout the movie; it was well paced, the character development was good (don't expect anything too deep), the comedy was well timed, and the action was exciting. For a lighthearted film, there were a few moments that definitely pulled on the heartstrings.

If you're looking for a fun movie to watch, and especially if you're a fan of CHUCK (think of this as an R rated CHUCK), then I highly recommend this move.

"Cop Car" (2015) is a very simple story intriguingly told. The premise is kinda absurd, but it is done so well that you will forgive its stupid premise and go along with it. Surely when i was 10 the last idea that came into my mind was to steal a cop car and go for a ride.

Kevin Bacon is superb here, playing a dirty cop who's car become stolen by two ~10 years old kids. He goes for a search, and we get see couple of more characters before the resolution. That is it, there is nothing more in this movie, yet direction, script, cinematography, acting and not traditional approach to the super simple story makes this movie very watchable.

Overall, "Cop Car" is not a traditional thriller. It approaches its very simple story intriguingly, and at the running time 1 h 23 min it barely drags and is worth to see it once.

Storyline

Based on the first of a trilogy by Tom Rob Smith and set in the Stalin era of the Soviet Union. The plot is about an idealistic pro-Stalin security officer who decides to investigate a series of child murders in a country where supposedly this sort of crime doesn't exist. The state would not hear of the existence of a child murderer let alone a serial killer. He gets demoted and exiled but decides, with just the help of his wife, to continue pursuing the case.

If you want to see this movie - done right - watch "Citizen X," the HBO movie that supposedly 'inspired" Child 44, but outshines it in every conceivable way.

Anyone will be able to see where Child 44 borrows from Citizen X, but where Citizen is a true-to-the-facts, utterly chilling story about one of the worst serial killers in history, Andrei Chikatilo, the telling of which is so much more creepy and horrifying for its simplicity and lack of "Hollywood" style embellishment.

Child 44 tries far too hard to be too many things, and fails at them all. The child murders, which are supposed to be the story's catalyst, end up feeling brushed over and tacked on, while the real-life bureaucracy and just plain pigheadedness of the government-in-denial that was almost complicit in many of the deaths due to inaction, becomes a confused and unreal spy/love story/rivalry conundrum that ends up feeling contrived and unfocused.

In recommending Citizen X to people, as I often have over the years, as possibly the best movie about a serial killer ever made, it is for precisely all the reasons where Child 44 goes wrong. Citizen X is wonderful writing and acting, is frightening and believable, a true look at a human turned monster, because it isn't overdone and pumped full of clichés and contrived action.

I didn't like it the way i wanted to. The premise is there. The idea is good. I just didn't find it very entertaining. At certain point, i was about to quit watching it, but because a friend told me the movie was very good and one of the best he had seen this year, i didn't. I'm not sorry for that, but i won't see it again. It's a bit too slow, and nothing really interesting happens. There are no scenes that mesmerize or even to memorize. The love story is not that good also... not very convincing and it all happens too fast. I didn't like the jokes (the horse joke is very bad) and the first dialogues between the two main protagonist are laughable. I also think that the main idea is really poorly explored. They centered the entire movie around the love thing, but the perspective of life, time, lifetime and immortality are barely explained; just like her inner thoughts and feelings about it. If I could direct a movie like this I would make it very differently.

The Longest Ride was one of my favourite Nicholas Sparks novels. It was extremely well written, coming together quite nicely at the end, it was a page turner and I was excited for the movie. However, I have never been more disappointed with the execution of a film like I have with this.

The casting for Luke was spot on, but what they did with his character greatly hurt the charm of his character. That being said the casting for Sophia and her roommate Marcia was horrendous. Sophia was supposed to be a strong, smart character with some fire but Brit Robertson brought this ditzy, flimsy feel to the character that can quite easily turn one off of the character.

I have always hated the liberties taken with Sparks' novels when they are being turned into films and cutting Brian out of the film completely and that whole subplot between him and Sophia also took away greatly from what made the novel interesting.

For once, I would like a capable screenwriter to do a Nicholas Sparks novel justice.

A snapshot in time-the film chronicles the story behind the 1955 LIFE magazine photo thread by Dennis Stock of then-rising star, James Dean, and gives us an inside look at some of Hollywood's most iconic images and into the life of a gifted, but troubled man.

James Dean, although the lead-star of only three films, concreted himself as one of the cinema's golden age legends quite quickly in the 1950's - mainly through his unconventional approach to Hollywood's rules - this is, all before his premature death quite soon later.

Portrayed by Dane Dehaan, LIFE is a satirical chronicle of Dean's rise of an unknown to his Hollywood acting debut of success and fame. Yet, the film is not directly told as a documentary of his life - but via the lens of Robert Pattinson's character, Dennis Stock, a rookie photographer for a photo-agency with aspirations of becoming known.

Set in the 1950's, director Anton Corbijn's take on Dean's life is admirably applaudable as it takes us on an inside look of Dean's short lived fame and anti-fame. The sets, the cinematography, the music and the atmosphere all cipher the 50's pose, as smoking and larger-than-life LA are the standard.

First meeting at a party in 1955, Dennis (the photographer) approaches Dean; a young, sophisticated individual wearing a melo- polo, slicked hair with thick framed glasses and asks who he is. For Dehaan, the performance, both visually and in terms of acting is undeniably suited as he resonates Dean's moody and unique approach, showing him as a person, not merely an icon.

Forming sturdy relationships with Jack Warner (Ben Kingsley), of Warner Brothers Pictures, Dean's talent is soon spotted, and through several frustrations of the individual's motives, he told to 'play the part, follow the rules' and he would be made a star.

For Robert Pattinson, his take on iconic photographer Dennis Stock is equally as impressive as he enters the world of Hollywood from the other side of the carpet (and at bottom). Spotting Dean's talent early, Stock, in the two-hour running time attempts to get photographs of Dean before fame kicks in. Deadlines, pressure and awkwardness soon mount-up, and Pattinson expertly presents it onto screen.

Shot-by-shot, we capture each of Stock's photos of James Dean - but, rather than just a photo and what point it was taken - we are inclusively taken into a perspective of why it was taken, the setting and how they were so important - and now, in retrospective of our present - why so iconic.

Storyline

What bothers me most about Age of Ultron is that it can't decide on what kind of tone it wants to set. Some of the old Marvel spirit that balances fun with character arcs and themes is struck here, but a lot of the time, this film is just depressing too. The themes get quite dark, almost DC dark at times, and that worries me, 'cause I think the Marvel movies have done a better job with the whole comic-book movie thing than DC have. Hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Furthermore, all plot and character development seems to have been thrown out the window. The first Avengers worked because it was the perfect melting pot for all of these characters' stories and character development at the time. Captain America was still getting used to life in the 21st century, and of course Loki and Thor's story was in direct continuation to the movie Thor. In Age of Ultron, the same attempt at character and story unity is just messy. I thought Steve Rogers (and Falcon) was going to search for Bucky Barnes, did he just put that on hold? On the whole, the Cap was underused in this movie, as was Thor (my two faves). And the whole romance thing with Natasha and Bruce only works because of the wonderful performances by Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo. These characters have never shown the slightest bit of chemistry together before, now suddenly we're told that they have a crush on each other. After a movie where the Cap and Romanoff had a lot of chemistry together. Sure.

Also, maybe it's just me, but I just didn't care as much about the fictional city, because, well, it's fictional. We've already established that these characters live in a world tangent to our own, and Loki's invasion on Manhattan felt far more visceral to the audience 'cause we could relate to it. Not setting the final battle in an actual Eastern European location really damaged my investment in it. I really, really like Ultron as a character, though, and his personality kept me excited. But how he and Jarvis were connected might've gone over the heads of many in the audience.

You will not walk away from this film all energized like after the first Avengers. Instead, you'll feel like this is the end of an era. Pros to Elizabeth Olsen for a great character, but as a Marvel movie, Age of Ultron is messy to say the least.

Storyline

Succesful in his plan, Freeza decides to return to Earth to start his revenge against the saiyans who humillated him once.

Dragon Ball series has already achieve legendary status, yet it's also become hard to expand since characters are literal planet destroyers now. Using effective traits like timely comedy and exhilarating choreography, Resurrection F makes up for the simple plot. It reintroduces the villain Freeza with adequate respect to his original character and let him brawl with the heroes.

Freeza is resurrected and now he demands revenge. Admittedly, the story isn't complicated, bringing back old villain does possess some trouble with power level. The protagonists have dealt with much stronger foes, and now Freeza who was bullied by future Trunks is a legitimate threat. This might trouble the anime fans, and it takes some suspension of disbelief.

However, Dragon Ball is notorious for its power level shift, the more important thing is it delivers amazing animation. Production value is pretty high, unlike usual animation series where hits are blurry at best, the fights here are beautifully choreographed. Audience can fully appreciate the impact of hits and the flashy speed.

Humor works very well too. Usually, the attempt for comedy ends up campy, but the movie takes a few hilarious jokes with just the right timing. It presents the same quirky atmosphere fans adores from earlier series. If there's a complain, the sound effects occasionally become too loud, it's a bit jarring from the normal audio.

The revival of old nemesis might draw some questions about power level, but the movie is a suitable for medium to showcase the smooth animation and effective comedy.

It was so good! It was hilarious, I have never been in a cinema where the audience reacted like they did last night, the roar of laughter at times was louder then the film. At parts, well, one bit, the audience even clapped (you'll know what I mean when you watch it). If they're is any skeptics out there, anyone that thinks they couldn't top the first or that Pitch Perfect couldn't get any better .... It just did!

The songs are modern, with the odd 80's power ballads thrown in and the classic riff off half way through that includes everything from 90's hip- hop and club anthems. I immediately downloaded the soundtrack on Spotify when I got home and currently its playing in the background as I type away - with the odd body pop and head bang ;)

If I had to rate it, honestly I'd give it *****'s without hesitation.

I'm going to do this short and sweet: This film starts out like an episode of "True Detective" or "Touching Evil", and then as it comes down to the final inning, shifts into a beautifully paced and developed revelation, that is truly unexpected and chilling.

Charlize Theron, as always, is amazing. Her performance here has the intensity of both "Monster" and "North Country, " and she gets great support from the supporting cast.

Ignore negative reviews. This is a film that you need to see and then make an opinion about. For me, this was a very satisfying and effective movie that deserved far more accolades than it has received.

After viewing "Dark Places", It is hard for me to comprehend that it is not receiving a positive buzz right now. After being somewhat disappointed with "Goodnight Mommy" and seriously disappointed with "It Follows," "Dark Places" is a thriller that actually thrills. Bottom line" you need to see it!

Coming of age films are not new to the cinematic landscape, but Hollywood manages to propagate a new batch for each generation. Every once and a while, one stands out from the rest. From Rebel Without a Cause to Say Anything to Breakfast Club, this genre has provided positive memories and the lines that resonate throughout our younger years. Paper Towns and author John Green have struck this cord and provide a voice for this generation. The high school journey of Quentin (Nat Wolff) and his mysterious neighbour Margo (Cara Delevingne) is an adaptation of the Green novel. Quentin and Margo are friends throughout their childhood but have grown apart over the years. Then on a fateful night during their last year of high school, Margo asks Quentin for his help on a mission of revenge against friends who have done her wrong. The midnight escapade becomes a life-changing event for Quentin and he begins to pine after Margo again, then she mysteriously disappears. Family and friends want to know where she went and the mystery deepens as Quentin finds clues about her whereabouts that Margo left behind. He recruits his band of friends to take the road trip of a life time to find this teenage runaway. Throughout the life-transitory road trip, Quentin finds out more about himself, his relationships with his friends and what to do with his misplaced love of the mysterious Margo.

Throughout the opening moments of Paper Towns it feels like it was going down the predictable coming of age narrative. Boy meets girl, girl lives across the street, girl lives an adventurous life and boy pines after her from a distance. Quickly, director Jake Schreier (Robot and Frank) pulls the story out of the hormonal malaise and into the kaleidoscope of different expectations. His lead characters provide an unexpected depth. Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne were perfectly cast in this teen mystery. Wolff proves to have a John Cusack (Say Anything) quality that makes him appealing as the average boy that proves cool in the end, while Delevingne provides enough smouldering excitement to make her worth this young man's pursuit. They are surrounded by a wonderful cast of characters that compliment the comedic dialogue and the contemplative moments of the script. This is where the film differentiates itself within this genre. Even within the stereotypical trappings of the party scene, suggested teen sex and proverbial geek trio, the writing lifts the story line out of the post-pubescent mire. It may seem unrealistic to think that teens could speak at the depth that they do in Paper Towns, but the characters make these lines plausible and accessible. There is a maturity with a twist of hormonal angst that gives this story the necessary edge it needs. Also, the conclusion adds the unique twist that provides a surprising satisfaction to the adventure.

In the realm of teen dramas, Paper Towns does provide a new perspective on a generation, but if there are any difficulties with the film it was in the lack of parental involvement. In the typical American high-school scenarios, the lack of representation by the parents in the film does leave a hole in the narrative. The only people who seem to speak into the lives of these kids are other kids. This might be an insight on the lives of families today or a warning signal for parents to get more involved in the lives of their children. Regardless of the message that is trying to convey, the lack of any adult wisdom does leave a void in this engaging script. Paper Towns is an entertaining film that provides an opportunity for parental dialogue with their teens on many of the transitional issues of their lives.

I'm a fan of sci-fi and fantasy. Its what I read and what I love to watch. This movie franchise took a great premise, swallowed it whole and then charged movie goers to look at the digested remains for 2 painful hours. Yeah, I'm comparing this film to fecal matter. It's harsh but fitting. This movie is so terrible that it inspired me to write my first review on IMDb. Which is saying something, being that I also saw After Earth and this is my 1st review.

The dialogue hurt my ears, Woodley and James acted as if acting as actors who had no idea what acting was, the action sequences were weak at best, and then they wrap it all up with a predictable safe ending.

Storyline

This movie is Breaking The Waves for kids. An hour and a half of ever deepening misery is not mitigated by a two minute happy ending. Wrap it in Christmas paper and call it "It's a wonderful life Jr." Why would you drag yourself over emotional broken glass for this long in the hopes of a positive resolution? Do you find joy in hitting yourself on the head with a two by four, because you know that eventually the pain will stop, like when you pass out? We watched this thing and got two, count 'em two laughs. Not belly laughs, not guffaws, just mild chuckles. The rest was a harrowing, bewildering slide down into the depths of despair while trying to comfort children who were showing more and more signs of emotional distress. A waste of time and a waste of the talents involved.

Storyline

Upon leaving the theater, my reaction to Jurassic World was "eh it was good enough". A few days later as I think back to the movie, I remember the action packed finale and some of the great visuals but ultimately there was something lacking from the film, a soul, an identity.

Newcomer director Colin Trevorrow proves that he has the ability to to shoot involving action scenes, despite having just one small indie film on his resume. Despite this, sometimes his direction can feel flat, especially in dialogue heavy scenes where he struggles to create dynamism in the interactions of his characters. This leaves the audience uninvested in the intricacies of the story (which is highly straightforward) and simply eager to get to the next dino' showdown.

The dinosaur scenes in this film are overall fantastic, and elevate the movie to new heights. I felt like there could have been a greater variety of dinosaurs on offer here, but the ones that are in the film (especially the Mosasaur and I-Rex) deliver the goods.

Storyline

This isn't a Mad Max film, it's a road trip film that focuses heavily on Charlize Theron's character, Furiousa. "Mad Max" appears, essentially, as a tag along side character. He does nothing "mad", risqué or extreme and has little more than 5 lines throughout the first two third's of the film. You could literally replace the character of "Mad Max" with any other supporting actor and it would not change the film. In fact, this film feels as though it was intended to be a Mad Max styled film called "Furious Furiousa" and they wanted to cash in on the franchise and avoid being accused of ripping off actual Mad Max films,

What this is is a piece of pro feminism garbage and one, like most, that completely misses the point of what gender equality is really about. All male characters, arguably with the exception of the 2 defectors, are portrayed as violent, oppressive warmongers, all clan leaders and all "warriors" are male and violent.

The women are the oppressed baby makers and between them, Theron and a rag tag female only clan of pensioners, it's only them who can bring about justice and save the planet.

Strong female characters are fine, and this worked for the first hour or so until they really forced the feminist angle. A strong female (or male, black, Asian, gay... for that matter) character should not be noticeable.

A film with a solid minority lead stands out as great film making not because they use a minority, but because the minority character works without you consciously noticing it. Alien, Tomb Raider, Flight Plan, Silence of the Lambs, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Kill Bill, The Wizard of Oz.... all fantastic films without forcing gender bias on the audience. No one watches Rush Hour and thinks "hey, where's the white guy!?".

But this film doesn't just lose points for that. No, on the film itself, it is competently shot, crisp, sharp and well produced. However, the CGI can look clearly false (this could be intentional) and there is little to absolute zero character development - I could name maybe 4 characters and 2 of those were because I looked up the cast listing whilst watching.

As a whole, the film comes across as a two hour car chase finale. Very little happens outside of the vehicle and this leads to a monotonous viewing experience with a less than impressive final act.

Despite the movie is a over the top comedy that is ridiculous and sometimes straight out offensive and disgusting, the movie makes you laugh. I haven't laughed like this for a good while, so it does however do its job as a comedy. if you are however looking for a calm comedy that takes itself a little bit serious..... stay away XD It contains offensive jokes, foul language (often from the small ones) over-dramatic scenes with plot twists, scrap that! there is plot twists everywhere, but the movie is for some reason able to keep you entertained as you try to pick up all the popcorn you dropped on the floor after laughing hysterically from a really bad line that just turns even more awkward as the other character replies back. A must watch mess for the ones that needs a good laugh, and bring a friend. It makes the movie 10 time better when a cheap but funny line comes up and both of you can relate XD

Why all the hate? This movie was funny, heartwarming, and one of the best movies I've seen so far in 2015 (and I've seen a lot). Amy Schumer is clearly Hollywood's newest "big thing" and this movie proves that. Her character is hilarious and flawed.. bitchy yet you feel for her. I don't get why everyone is hating on this movie. So far it's been doing well at the box office and proves Amy's talents for writing and comedy. Yea, it's a rom-com, but there's something different about this movie. It get's dark and is full of emotion as well as raunch and laughs. If you didn't enjoy this movie, laugh during it, get choked up by her father's death and smile during her basketball court dance (as well as hum uptown girl), you have no soul. This is just a funny movie to have a good time watching. Lighten up!

Southpaw is a bloody good time. It's "Rocky" meets "8 Mile". OK, you can see every plot point and boxing-movie cliché from a mile away. But does it matter when such energy pumps through your veins as you're watching the big redemption fight. You're rooting for Billy Hope all the way, and you feel for him when he falls, big time. Jake Gyllenhaal doesn't give a spectacular performance as per his pedigree, but he makes Billy Hope come alive. The role was originally intended for Eminem, and you can see Gyllenhaal channel him in every last nuance of his performance. Had Eminem taken the role, we'd be talking about his performance for years. Other performances are worth mentioning. Forrest Whitaker does a great job as the "cranky old gym trainer", and Rachel McAdams soars as Maureen Hope. Not to mention, Oona Laurence, turning in a magnificent performance as Leila. Southpaw doesn't pack the punch of what you'd might expect in the award show category, but it's a popcorn, sports flick that will entertain you, and that's enough.

I'm a big Terminator 1 and 2 fan. They are 2 of my favourite sci-fi movies of all time. Terminator 3 and 4 were decent but both quite dull and not even comparable to their predecessors. Terminator 5 is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. There are no words to describe how awful this is. They couldn't have made it any worse even if they tried. Everything from the acting to the script to the special effects is absolutely laughable. And yes I did start laughing at some point, thinking 'what the hell is going on here?'. The people who wrote the script should be fired, the actors should go to acting classes and Arnie should apologise to the fans for this monstrosity. This should have never been made. What a joke of a movie.

What can I say? I have some serious doubts that anyone with a few working brain cells will find much to like about this snooze fest.

You know what you're getting yourself into with a MARVEL movie.

It's guaranteed success on that basis alone even though not one MCU movie to date has actually been, you know, a good film.

Let's put it like this: Even the film's title character points out that it's a stupid idea for a movie.

Suffice to say that, as per usual, the MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE is less than marvellous.

I should have known what to expect really. Even though I wasn't at the cinema by choice but was taken there with friends. We all admitted afterwards that we were bored to sleep by it and probably would have slept if it wasn't so loud.
